Week 11 Update - Props with feedback

Feedback was to get my props to look as realistic as possible with the use of materials. I am new to using materials, so it took me a while to figure out Quixel Suite, and I am still figuring out minor details about it. I also included my Moon Base as requested by Dylan, looking forward to pushing this also with materials. Moving forward I want to speed up my modeling workflow, to better include material based programs and to really push my pieces.

Water Pipes - Material Update second Tutorial

So I watched another tutorial on DDO, I feel like I have improved since starting using materials and I am very happy with the look of this prop. It could still use some improvements, to get it closer to the RL original, but for just starting to use this program last week I feel very confident with the results so far. Have to keep playing around with the settings and materials.

Vertex Tutorial - Hard Surface nDo2

Lots of great tutorials on vertex, but I went with this one, as I felt it would helped me the most now. I created this quick sci fi wall with a door, the process was really quick and I can see myself using it to make some quick props or environments.

Update - Prop 1 - Hellghast Power Supply

So I picked two props to work on before Tuesday, I started with the one I believed to be the hardest one. First prop, from the game Killzone 3, I believe its a electrical converter or generator. I couldn't find much more reference material from the game or real life electrical power supplies that might resemble this.

Painting my scene with Substance Painter

So I spent the last week going over a couple (to say the lease) of tutorials to learn Substance Painter. I really like the program, it has a bit of a learning curve, but once I got how to use the basics, everything else just came naturally. I started painting the base and have a good material feel to it, its also great to have my own material that I can just go and paint any part of the structure I want to match.

Update - Light tweek and fixing Material on Landscape

So I watch a couple of tutorials this week, and went over more lighting documentation on Unreal. Have two lighting options I was playing around with, I am leaning towards Option 2 as I think it gives me a better scene.

Update - Rocks are in scene!

I finally have my rocks in the scene, I feel like it took too long and I was starting to lose confidence. I will probably end up moving them up a bit, I just quickly set them up tonight.
